MAAO was created as a volunteer learning association to provide Minnesota property assessment professionals a support organization committed to promoting the public good by elevating ethical and professional standards through professional development, continuing education, and public awareness of Minnesota's assessment process.

MAAO maintains a working relationship with the International Association of Assessing Officers, North Central Regional Association of Assessing Officers, Appraisal Institute, American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and the Minnesota Department of Revenue to achieve our objectives and build upon our professional goals.

The officers and directors of MAAO strive to uphold the ideals of fair and equitable assessment practices for all property owners throughout Minnesota. We strive to improve the standards of assessment practice by providing assessment/appraisal educational opportunities. Our organization is always evolving in response to external forces in order to maintain a credible role in support of highly regarded professionalism.

We are very proud of the functionality that our website has to offer our members. We've created a number of committees dedicated to the practice of specific components of the assessment process and, as a volunteer organization; we welcome energetic, talented individuals sharing our ideals and commitments to become involved.
