MAAO New Instructor Workshop

Have you ever thought about being an instructor? Have an interest in assisting with a course? Then this is the workshop for you! 

Being an instructor does not necessarily mean you have to teach a weeklong course. Maybe you have an interest in assisting with Summer Seminar, Fall Conference, virtual workshop, or a short course that MAAO offers.   

The MAAO New Instructor Workshop is free of cost and intended to give future instructors resources and guidance. This informal workshop includes a few current instructors and education committee members presenting their experiences, discussion of the resources available to new instructors, and some participant engagement. 

Facilitators: MAAO Education Steering Committee  

Fee:  No charge for this workshop. 

Prerequisites/Requirements:  None 

Location: Stearns County Service Center, 3301 CR 138, Waite Park, MN

Food and Beverages: Refreshments will be served.

ADA Policy: If you have a disability and may require some accommodations at any event, please notify us via email to [email protected] at least two weeks prior to the course, and we will attempt to make reasonable arrangements.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests received prior to 8:00am five business days prior to the start of the course will be issued a refund, less a $30 administration fee. Cancellation requests received after this time or registrants who fail to attend the course are responsible for the entire fee.  If a registrant is unable to attend the event, a substitute from the jurisdiction that paid the registration fee can attend at no additional charge. Please send written notification of this change or cancellation requests to [email protected]. Although it is not the policy of MAAO to cancel a course or seminar, MAAO reserves the right to do so and provide a full refund if the minimum enrollment level is not reached. Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the date of the course or conference. 

COVID Considerations: MAAO is following the current guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health. Each educational offering is subject to cancellation if mandated by the Governor or due to a change in COVID conditions. A 100% refund will be processed for any registrant due to a COVID-related cancellation. Attendance at any course is at the risk of the employer and attendee. MAAO will not be held liable.
