Mass Appraisal Basics

 Monday, September 21 - Friday, September 25, 2020
Waite Park, MN

Registration is closed.

This introductory 28 hour course plus 2 hour exam introduces participants to the concepts and procedures of ad valorem mass appraisal through lecture, problem solving, and case studies.  Emphasis is on the practical application of mass appraisal techniques in the three approaches to value, statistics and sales ratio studies and is the fourth sequential course required for the Certified Minnesota Assessor level of licensure.  This course has been approved for 28 hours of continuing education, 30 hours with exam, with the Minnesota State Board of Assessors and Appraiser Continuing Education with the Department of Commerce.

COVID-19 Considerations: MAAO has made accommodations to ensure proper social distancing at this course and adhere to the Governor’s orders of not exceeding 25% meeting room capacity, by moving to a larger venue with a larger meeting room, allowing each attendee their own 8' table with 6' of space in front and behind. Other adjustments, such as catering considerations, sanitizing stations, and the strongly recommended use of face masks except when seated during course instruction will provide as safe of a learning environment as possible. We have talked in detail with the event venue and feel confident that every reasonable precaution is being taken for attendees' health and safety.
