Descriptio n: Developed and instructed by the MAAO Agricultural Committee, A dvanced Ag covers many unique challenges presented in assessing agricultura l properties. The main goal of this course will be to instruct attendees an d assist in developing the confidence to work with agricultural properties on a practical basis. This advanced agricultural course will cover the fol lowing topics in depth:
1. The classification, split classification,
and tools to use in determining agricultural classification.
2. Valua
tion strategies, rates, and tables to aid in the valuation of agricultural
properties.
3. CER, CPI, ABC soil ratings, and how to utilize them. T
he emphasis will be on converting to CPI soil ratings.
4. Tips on det
ermination and applying strategies regarding both functional and economic o
bsolescence for agricultural facilities.
5. Tips on valuing re-purpos
ed agricultural buildings.
6. Determining the requirements for agricu
ltural homestead and linkage of homestead properties under various scenario
s.
MAAO Advanced Ag will be limited to a maximum of 48 registrants. A minimum of 26 registrants is required to hold the course.
C redits: Advanced Ag is a 15 hour, 2-day course. This elective cou rse has been approved by the State Board of Assessors for 15 hours of conti nuing education. This course is approved as 15-hour Property Specific cours e required for AMA licensure; you must take the exam. You do not need to ta ke the exam if you only need CEHs, in which case you will only receive 14 C EHs.

S tudent Expectations: This course includes 14 hours of classroom i nstruction during which students will be expected to participate in discuss ions, group activities, and coursework that may include but is not limited to reading, homework, problem solving, etc. both during and outside classro om hours. There is also a 1 hour exam at the end of the course the student should plan to review for. If alternative testing options are required, p lease contact educationcoo rdinator@mnmaao.org via email as soon as possible to discuss, and we wi ll attempt to make reasonable accommodations.
Food and Bevera ges: For student, instructor and employer convenience, lunch and a limited variety of refreshments and snacks are included in your registrat ion fee for this course.

Cancellation Poli cy: Cancellation requests received prior to 8:00am five business days prior to the start of the course will be issued a refund, less a $30 a dministration fee. Cancellation requests received after this time or regist rants who fail to attend the course are responsible for the entire fee. If a registrant is unable to attend the event, a substitute from the jurisdic tion that paid the registration fee can attend at no additional charge. Although it is not the policy of MAAO to cancel a course or semina r, MAAO reserves the right to do so and provide a full refund if the minimu m enrollment level is not reached.
