Basic Appraisal Principles

COVID-19 Considerations: MAAO has worked with the event venue for this offering to ensure proper social distancing, adherence to the Governor’s orders of not exceeding 25% meeting room capacity for events, and COVID-19 catering accommodations. Additionally, sanitizing stations will be provided, face masks will be required at all times, no-contact forehead temperatures will be taken at the beginning of each day, and there will be no passing of paperwork throughout the class. We have talked in detail with the event venue and feel confident that every reasonable precaution is being taken for attendees' health and safety.  This offering is subject to cancellation if mandated by the Governor.  A 100% refund will be processed for any registrant due to a Covid-related cancellation. Attendance at this course is at the risk of the employer and attendee. Neither MAAO nor A.I. will be held liable.

Prerequisite:  Six months work experience and Assessment Laws and Procedures preferred

Requirements: You must bring an HP 12c Calculator

Course Materials: When you register through the Appraisal Institute, you will have the option to either download course materials (included in the registration price) or pay an additional fee to have a hard copy sent to you directly, prior to the course. No hard copies will be available at the course.

Food & Beverages:  For student, instructor and employer convenience a limited variety of refreshments and snacks are included in your registration fee and will be available for a.m. and p.m. breaks. In order to keep registration fees lower, lunch will be on your own for MAAO co-sponsored courses such as this one, so please plan accordingly.

Location:  The Park Event Center,  500 Division St., Waite Park, MN.

Scholarships:  MAAO offers weeklong course scholarships to anyone that is interested in pursuing a career in the assessment field and demonstrates a financial need.  Courses eligible for a scholarship include Assessment Laws and Procedures (ALP), Appraisal Principles, Appraisal Procedures, and Mass Appraisal.   More information and a scholarship application are available by clicking here.
