Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, registration is suspended until further notice. 


Description: This workshop is intended for assessors planning to take the Minnesota Residential Case Study Exam.  The student reference manual includes numerous problems and solutions to study while preparing for the case study exam.  By attending the workshop, candidates will be prepared for the case study exam, which will be offered the following day.

Credits:  8 Hours of Continuing Education are approved for assessor licensing

Prerequisite:  There are no prerequisites to attend the workshop, but it is strongly recommended that the candidate complete and pass the demonstration form report before taking the case study exam.

Recommended Textbook:  Appraisal Institute "Appraising Residential Properties", Fourth Edition is a PDF book that may be purchased for $45.00 directly from the Appraisal Institute at http://www.appraisalinstitute.org/.

Workshop Course Materials:  If you would like to have the workshop materials prior to the course offering, you can download them from the MAAO website (for Members) under "Form Report & Case Study Resources" or you can contact the Education Coordinator at the email address below and a PDF copy will be sent to you.  You will also receive a hard copy at the workshop.

Payment: Credit card only

Food & Beverages: For student, instructor and employer convenience, lunch and a limited variety of refreshments and snacks are included in your registration fee for this course. (Note: In order to keep registration fees lower, co-sponsored courses such as Principles and Procedures, and IAAO courses hosted by MAAO will offer beverages, a.m. and p.m. breaks only; lunch will not be provided.)

Class Size:  Minimum of 10 registered for the optional exam by May 24, 2020

ADA Policy:  If you have a disability and may require some accommodations at any event, please notify us via email at least two weeks in advance and we will attempt to make reasonable accommodations.

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellation requests received prior to 8:00 a.m., 5 business days prior to the start of the course will be issued a refund, less a $30 administration fee.  Cancellations requests received after this time or registrants who fail to attend the course are responsible for the entire fee.  If a registrant is unable to attend the event, a substitute from the jurisdiction that paid the registration fee can attend at no additional charge.  Please send written notification of this change or cancellation requests to [email protected].  Although it is not the policy of MAAO to cancel a course or seminar, MAAO reserves the right to do so and provide a full refund if the minimum enrollment level is not reached.  Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the date of the course or conference.
